The Future of Armored Core

With the release of Dark Souls III, the Souls series, FROM Software’s most successful franchise to date, has seemingly come to a close. President of FROM Hidetaka Miyazaki has stated that after so many games he wants to move on to something new and already has a new IP in development. However, this unnamed new IP isn’t the only thing on Miyazaki’s mind, and has humored the idea of a new game in the Armored Core series.

“Personally I want to do it,” Miyazaki replied to a question about the mech action series. “After all I was involved in three games in the series. Armored Core is one of the pillars of From Software’s lineup, but I can’t reveal anything at the moment.”

This won’t be the first time Miyazaki will have tackled the series. He started his career at FROM as a planner for Armored Core: Last Raven; humorously, this may explain the high difficulty of the game. He then moved on to direct both Armored Core 4 and Armored Core: for Answer. This begs the question, if he does indeed return to direct another game in the series, will he direct it in the same direction as his previous efforts, or will his experience with the wildly popular Souls series give him some new angles to work with? I, for one, will be anxiously looking forward to the answer.

ACGarage Moves Forward

Hello Folks,

It’s been some time since I’ve worked on ACGarage. It’s about time I really put in some elbow grease to get the site into the 21st Century. I’m making some changes that’ll help the community keep fresh information incoming, and to keep tabs on what’s happening at ACGarage.com along with their other interests. I’m also moving away from an Armored Core centric site to a Gaming Community site. The community has branched off to different interests as time moved on, and it’s a community I love. I’m hoping together we can find new common interests, and revitalize the community, as well as bring in new members.

Some new options include WordPress. Users are integrated with the forums, so all you need to do is be logged into the forums to have your account on the WordPress site. If you’re interested in contributing, let me know.

Mobile friendly! I’ve checked it out and it looks like all the new wiz-bang includes mobile functionality. You should be able to easily participate on mobile devices.

RSS Feeds! The forum and WordPress have RSS feeds that you can tap into if you have a reader. For the forum it’s: http://acgarage.com/forum/feed.php and for WordPress articles it’s: http://acgarage.com/articles/feed/.

I’m still putting some final pieces into place. I welcome back our veteran members, and look forward to seeing new faces.
