Well my Prelude is squashed flat! Got rearended at a red light by a guy doing 45 in a Chevy 2500, the car is twisted all the way up to the A pillar and the trunk is now non-existent! The other guys insurance is gonna total it out for $1165 but I had near 3 times that into the car and don't have any of the receipts to show for any of the mods and work.

Looking at getting an '87 MR2 at the moment.

This one.

Haven't got to check it out yet but after I get my van running again it'd like something else.
I get on my open licence in a month or so too XD.
(You can't drive anything with >200Kw, anything with a turbo/supercharger, anything >v6 or a rotary over 1.2L if you aren't on your open licence here).

An MR2 will be a good car for a long time, if you get the chance you should swap in a 22R with a 20R head and 22R cam, should be quite powerful for that tiny little chassi.

New impreza.

A lot of people seem to like it.

But I think it's the worst looking one.

really? the 2008 - 2011 hatchback looked like a mashed buttock and the 2006-2007 has a front end known lovingly in the impreza owner community as the "vagina face".

i think it looks nice and all, but it just looks too... plain and unemotional to me. it reminds me of a big, fat corolla. it looks like it's been bred out of its rally car pedigree. :( to me, this would have made for a fantastic legacy sedan model.

can't help but wonder what the STI will look like.

Yup, really.

Bug eye was my least favourite, but not anymore.
I can't say I like the hatch either.
This new one doesn't have any attitude though.

As far as I'm concerned it looks kinda like a Prius with a more manly front (as long as you don't look at the back, lul).

I'm also kind of worried about the WRX/STI.
I can't really think what it would look like.

Perhaps their FT-86 varient will be their new sports car?

Double post just so someone reads it.

Best mate got in an accident the other day (not his fault) and is looking at a new car to get.
Has to be 2005 model onwards (Not strictly, but preferably), rear wheel drive, under $20K (AUD, maybe don't worry about this since car prices vary way to wildly between countries) and won't get pulled over constantly.
And fun.

I can barely think of anything decent besides our home-grown commadores (hoping he at least gets an sv6).

Still not running just yet, burnt out the unilite module in the dizzy because it got full battery power when cranking instead of 10 volts (factory resistor wire is burnt out, sadly).

Build specs:
1972 Ford Gran Torino Sport
Engine: 400 cid Cleveland
Heads: 351 Cleveland 2v, casting flash removed from ports, 2.19in/1.71ex stainless steel valves with 5 angle grind, light cleanup in the port bowls, rocker pedistalls cut down and refit for 7/16 studs and 1.73 harland sharpe roller rockers

Intake: Edlebrock street master single plane, port matched to heads and exhaust crossover blocked

Carb: 650 Speed Demon DP refit with annular boosters and remachined for 3 circuit progressive fuel metering using Quik Fuel metering blocks

Cam: 0.490 in/0.510 ex lift, 230in/240ex duration @ 0.050 lift, 112 lsa installed 0* advanced/retarded

Bottom end: Completely rebuilt 400 short block using crappy dished pistons (getting the rods bushed to accept GOOD pistons would have cost more money than i could afford at the time)

Ignition: Mallory unilite billit all mechanical distributor and promaster resin core coil (51,000 volt output).

Current estimates on the output of this thing is an easy 413 hp (@ 5800 rpm) and about 438 torque (@ 2200 rpm) using Performance Trends software. I already have a couple guys wanting me to hurry and get it running so that I can race them at SIR, sadly they have no clue what they're in for...

Very nice Torkair.

I'd love a Gran Torino if I could afford the thing (only ones out here in Australia were like 50k)
