Currently drive a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 X-treme. Dark Cherry Red with silver stripes, with an A.R.E. hard toneau cover on the bed. Just recently had a $1300 stereo put in (10-inch subwoofer, 4 brand new speakers, an amp, and new radio with iPod integration). Currently planning to beef the engine up with some bolt-on power adders. I may go with a turbo or a blower, depends on the budget. Wheels and tires, a slight repaint (I was recently involved in a hit-n-run which left a dent on my front bumper about the size of a large orange), new front valance (which has a small crack on it) and rollpan, and possibly some basic power-adders (new air filter system, computer tweak, etc.) are first up on my list.

I'm a fan of mostly road-racing or rally racing, I enjoy spontaneity in racing. I'm also a sucker for drag racing.
WHO AM I!? I'M SPIDER-MAN!

I have a 2003 Mazda 6 in a metallic gray. Parts market for my car suck period. But I've made due with what was available and the cash I have. Installed an AEM Cold Air Intake, B&M Transmission Cooler (damn heat prone auto tranny) Mostly cosmetic upgrades, sport grille, interior lighting, headlights, taillights, etc. Also dropped down some cash for a sweet pair of Toyo Proxes 4 tires. I still have an audio link unit that will directly link my MP3 player to the car stereo but I never got around to mounting and installing it in the center console, though the nice hole I cut out is there. As for now I don't plan to spend any more money on car upgrades as it just isn't cost effective. I'd rather save the cash and spend it on whatever the next car I purchase is. (Here's hoping for a MazdaSpeed RX-8 or some other rotary delight) As for racing I enjoy watching almost everything except NASCAR (can't stand it)

Edit- Find a old RX-7 if your sticking with Mazda.

At the moment I'm helping my friend convert his 240SX into a S15. The Transmission just blew out though because he got stuck in the snow and did a little overkill to try and get out.

I like old school Hondas/Acuras (Accord , Prelude , Integra , CRX). I'm probably going to pick up a 89-91 Accord for about 600. First thing I wanna work on is rust if any , cold air intake , headlights , taillights , headers , lowering springs , cat back exhuast. Eventually put on a body kit. I want to do a ton more things to it , mainly swapping the engine out for either a K20 series engine or a K24A4 swap.

Poll?

hmm... i owned a bunch of cars. some crappy, some so-so.

my first one was a 1980-something Suzuki Samurai. wow, that thing was hideous. 4 cylinders, 3 of them worked. 4-speed manual gearbox, 4th gear didn't work. top speed of maybe 40mph going flat out downhill with the wind at my back. climate control, no radio, no power steering, no power nothing. only the passenger-side wiper worked. the windows could only be opened halfway down or else they'd fall into the door and i'd have to pry the door open to get them out again. its previous owner had... uh... modified it with a sort of lift kit and oversized tires. it wouldn't be so bad, but the kit had replaced the standard suspension with 4 metal blocks, so i pretty much felt everything on the road, and it was a strain on the poor 4(3?) cylinder engine to chug the thing along.

next one was a 88 ford ranger. it had a few quirks but wasn't too bad. it had a V6 with all cylinders working, so it was considerably more powerful than the Sammy. it was a good workhorse, but the emergency brake was shot and could be started without the use of a key.

next was a 5-speed '93 Ford Probe GT. good little car. i owned it for a couple of months before some lady ran a red light and T-boned me and totaled it.

next on the list is a '91 Toyota Supra Turbo. good stuff. did so many mods i can barely remember them all. K&N cone filter, Koyo Radiator, Lexus MAF sensor , HKS BOV, MSD ignition system, new turbo, Greddy boost controller & turbo timer, bigger injectors, new clutch, short shifter, and i replaced the entire turboback exhaust system with custom piping (no cat). i had some generic front & rear strut bar and i replaced the coilovers with some Teins. dumped a bunch of silicone tubing into the engine bay and polished some hardware like the valve covers, turbo, and intake plenum to make it pretty. i think i have a picture of it somewhere. i'll post it if i ever find it again. then one day, the head gasket blew on me, so i had that replaced with a metal HKS one and some new ARP head studs.

the Supra wasn't always operational due to me working on it or the head gasket blowing or whatever, so in the meanwhile, i got a '92 Mitsu 3000GT VR4. don't think my parents ever bought me any of these cars - i worked for each one. did basic mods - intake, cat-back, and ignition wires - so not a whole lot, but it DID come with a genuine VeilSide body kit so that was cool. i drove this while the Supra wasn't operational.

now i drive a bone-stock '02 5spd Subaru WRX sedan haven't really done anything to it aside from regular maintenance.

How many people did you burn with that Supra?

WRXs are pretty common up here (Along with EVOs) because of our weather.

lol quite a bit, actually. but there WAS one time that i actually killed a Ferarri with it. it was an older model, but i still beat it by like 4 or 5 lengths. i have no idea whether something was wrong with the car or if the driver messed up or something... but i was still pretty hyped by it. so much so that i got custom plates. 8A4RE (Ate a Ferarri). :D

True here, as well. There's actually a french Scoobie club that comes down here from Canada in the heavy snowfall. Guess they like our windy roads.

There's a silver VeilSide Evo 7 for sale, but I'm not really interested (read: too poor) Thing has a nice set of bronze 18" TE37s, Apex'i N1 muffler and 5Zigen turbo-back exhaust kit. Sparco steering wheel, custom pedals, K&N cone filter, Nitrous Express fogger kit, and larger GReddy turbo setup. This is all just stuff I read off of the sheet in the back window.

I don't currently drive anything, but when the snow melts, I'm heading up to the local scrapyard and likely buying a parted-out but complete '77 240Z shell. I was eyeing it last summer, and I think I might indulge myself. Can't decide what to put in it, though. It's seriously nothing but frame and body, straight as an arrow (where it counts) and with very little rust (no actual holes, as the thing was primered before being left to die in the sun).

But if you must know, I currently roll in my mom's 2000 Neon SE. It's black, so it has street cred.

If I could actually find one around here that still had some decent mileage (and I actually found myself a new job) I would try to pick it up as a project car (In my dreams) Then again there is a company that makes a beefed up version of the Noble M12's engine which would perfectly fit into the Mazda 6. Apparently the ECU wouldn't even put up that much of a fuss. I guess since it is in essence a Duratec V6 which is what the sport 6's are equipped with. Problem is nobody in the Mazda6Club forums has the money to undertake the swap. Then maybe I could beat something more than a golf cart lol.

nah. kinda wish i did tho just to see wtf happened with him, but he turned left when we pulled up to the next light and i wasn't able to follow. to tell you the truth, it wasn't until he was pulling away that i noticed the yellow horse emblem on the back that i figured it was a ferarri.

Hey Sets, if you get the 240 get a scarab kit and drop a SBF with a built C4. Make those chevy guys cry like babies, I can even get you general specs for the motor (same one my brother and I want to build  468 SBF  )

Any how, the car that I drive (or would be driving if it werent in a million pieces) is a 72 ford ranchero GT. It has an H code 351 cleveland, but I'm working on converting it to a cobra jet (mostly cause the head gaskets were blown and the valve seats were trashed).

Here are some pics of the body

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b308/ ... 0216-1.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b308/ ... 0214-1.jpg

And the engine, as I took it apart

And if anyone sees any 72 rancheros or Gran torrinos in there local scrap yards, please let me know, I need parts bad!!!

That Ranchero definitely has potential. I'll check Rustic when I head up there in the spring and let you know if I find anything. Make me a shopping list.

I was thinking of locating an S30 from a ZG, but I don't think it'll be cheap. I've been drooling over a few half-cuts from JustJap.com, and I think if I can keep my finances in the green long enough, I might order a redtop SR20 180SX nose. This will give me all the mounting and wiring I need, as well as a complete engine, transmission, and all the wiring.

Or if I want to go the budget route, find a KA24DE. There are a number of dead 240SXs up here, so it shouldn't be too hard. The older Zs really don't take much to get them moving. You'd be surprised what a moderately-built four-banger will accomplish in one of those.

whoooooo thank goodnesss an auto thread.
Before i begin, pardon my english... i know its sucks.

around cars i'm kinda lucky....actually because i'm born here..... we have lot's of japaneese cars here.

My first car was a 4wd celica. Wel.. not actually mine, but my father's.

second; MR2, i won this car in a contest i loved that car, it was black, and the only thing i installed in it was a TEIN sports suspention kit and MOMO wheels.
But i totalled it afterwards..my fault.
Cause here we don't have highways, we have twisted, blinded dangerous roads.

Now, that i've got a job, i'm working on my first project.

I'm working on my very own RPS14 (240sx nissan)
i'm planning to swap the engine for an S14 sr20det engine (who doesn't?)
changing the front end part of the car for an s15 one.
wel thats the beginning, i wonder if anyone does own an 240sx just like me?

probably not. just get another or save up if you haven't done so already. in the meanwhile, just drive your nissan till it dies.
